Perrigo, the Ireland-based private label self-care and over-the-counter medicine producer, has announced the impending retirement of its executive president and chief financial officer. Ray Silcock will step down, but remain with the company in his current positions until July 15.

Under Silcock, Perrigo has seen strong results recently. Perrigo's net sales for Q4 2021 were $1.1 billion, an increase of $52 million, or 4.9% from 2020, fueled by higher profit from new products and lower operating expenses.

"On behalf of the board of directors and our executive leadership team, I would like to thank Ray for his dedication and contributions over the last three years in helping to transform Perrigo to a consumer self-care company,” said Perrigo president and CEO Murray S. Kessler. “He has been a great friend, colleague and valued counselor to me personally over the past 30-plus years. We appreciate his leadership and partnership in executing our vision as a focused consumer self-care company and wish him all the best in retirement."

Silcock has been with Perrigo since 2019, leading the finances of the company. He joined Perrigo having been chief financial officer of both public and private equity held companies for over 20 years. Perrigo added that it has begun a search to find Silcock’s successor.

"It has been a privilege to work with Perrigo's devoted and talented team,” said Silcock. “Having completed Perrigo's transformation to a pure-play consumer company, now is the right time for me to step aside. I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition and look forward to following the continued success of the Perrigo team."

Perrigo is one of largest store brand OTC player in the U.S., with more than 9,000 SKUs under own brand labels.
