New Trader Joe’s snack bridges French fry/potato chip gap

Monrovia, Calif.-based Trader Joe’s, which carries approximately 90 percent private brand products in its inventories, has a near cult following for some of its exclusive products. The company’s new Spud Crunchies, a cross between potato chips and French fries, is already drawing rave reviews on social media and has captured the attention of NBC’s Today.com.

“One of the newest additions to Trader Joe’s chip aisle is here to rock your world — or at least your snack time,” stated Megan O. Steintrager, a food blogger for Today.com. First announced on Trader Joe’s website on Dec. 29, “the Internet has gone ‘kinda nuts’ for this snack,” she emphasized in her blog.
