Mount Franklin Foods expands with acquisition

Mount Franklin Foods, a producer of private label snacks, nuts, confections and more, has acquired the food processing and ingredients divisions of Chicago-based Arro, which will be rebranded as a new independent business under Mount Franklin Foods called Element Food Solutions. 

Mount Franklin was featured in last month's Snacks Report and is a supplier of candy, mints, nut products, gummies, jellies, fruit snacks and snack mixes for private label but also under the brands Sunrise Confections, Azar Nut and Hospitality Mints. With the addition of the Arro food processing business, Mount Franklin attains the company’s large product development and packaging solutions business for bake mix, powdered beverages, ingredients for cereals, trail mix and nut categories. The ingredient business brings to Mount Franklin operations for more bulk ingredient blending, large format handling and storage solutions.

The Element Food Solutions business will continue to operate out of the former Arro locations.
