Arlington, Va.-based Lidl is preparing to host grand openings for its two new Washington, D.C.-area stores next month, including its first store in Maryland. The stores, in Bowie, Md., and Dumfries, Va., are Lidl’s seventh and eighth in the region, set to open on Sept. 12 and Sept. 26, according to the company’s website.
With its stores in America for just over a year, the German deep discounter is expanding in the U.S., despite having to reset its retail strategies. Operating over 10,000 stores in 27 countries, Lidl has more than 50 stores in six East Coast states.
