Lidl Expands NYC Footprint With New Manhattan Location
Lidl is expanding its presence in New York City with the Aug. 1 opening of its new store on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
Sitting in the shadow of the Williamsburg Bridge, the grocer's newest New York store will be located at 408 Grand Street. Once open, the store will operate from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Currently, Lidl has eight stores across the city's five boroughs: three in Queens, two in Brooklyn, one in Manhattan, one in the Bronx, and one in Staten Island.
Among the highlights of the new store will be its 49-cent croissant, which are flown in daily from Europe and baked fresh in store. Additionally, the grocer recently launched its Special Guest bakery program, where a new baked good is introduced each month. The selections typically play to seasonal trends while also offering unique products.
Other special features of the new store include:
- Butcher's Specialty private-label meat brand: The line includes high-quality, affordable beef, chicken, pork, lamb, and veal. Options include USDA Choice beef, organic beef, grass-fed beef, antibiotic-free chicken and all-natural pork.
- Nixe chunk light tuna in water (private label): The MSC-certified, sustainably sourced chunk light tuna is priced at $19.99 for a case (48 cans), available for a limited time from the Friday of the grand store opening to the following Friday.
- Preferred Selection pizza: Imported from Europe, the line features a combination of unique and classic flavors such as Truffle Oil & Mushroom, 5 Cheese & Chutney and Margherita.
- Bon Gelati mini mix ice cream bars: The Lidl-exclusive pack comes with 12 bars and four flavors: milk chocolate, almond, white chocolate and dark chocolate.
- Lidl Preferred Selection Parmigiano Reggiano aged 24 months.
- Lidl Preferred Selection prosciutto: A premium, thinly sliced prosciutto for charcuterie boards, sandwiches and more.
- Lidl Preferred Selection frozen tiramisu.
- Preferred Selection chilled Italian pasta: Ingredients are imported from Italy and feature premium fillings, including truffle and lobster, and offered in flavors such as Cacio e Pepe and Burrata and Sun-Dried Tomato.
