The events are called “Kroger Social Social,” weekly virtual parties and activity kits that Kroger will be making available for download at the designated site krogersocialsocial.com. The downloadable kits include activities like a Mother’s Day card to decorate, and a selection of cute coupons to give to mom like “This coupon good for: vacuum the house.” The kits also include fun recipes centered around its private brands Kroger, Simple Truth and Private Selection. For example, this week’s recipes include “Hot Mama’s Chocolate,” featuring Simply Truth organic milk, Private Selection cayenne pepper and Private Selection Double Cocoa mix.
From the virtual perspective, using Facebook, Kroger is hosting a virtual party on the site for consumers to join and share and learn more. The Mother’s Day event is from 4-6 p.m. on May 9. Kroger describes the Kroger Social Social event as a party that’s, “Hosted by you, supported by Our Brands. A weekly, nationwide stay-at-home celebration that brings people together around food and festivity.”
Part of the virtual kit also includes a social challenge for consumers to share a photo of a mother or someone who’s been like a mom to them on their social accounts or with the @KrogerSocialSocial page.
Other fun recipes included mimosa drinks, avocado toast recipes, bloody mary drinks and an egg frittata, all specializing on Kroger’s store brand products.
