Kroger Launches E-Commerce Business Unit
The Kroger Co. has created a new e-commerce business unit that will allow the company to align all teams contributing to its online customer experience.
To lead this effort, the grocer has named Yael Cosset executive vice president and chief digital officer. He previously held the title of senior vice president and chief information officer. In his new role, Cosset will continue to oversee technology and data for the company and expand his responsibilities to include the new e-commerce unit.
"Accelerating Kroger's e-commerce growth is a top priority," said Ron Sargent, Kroger's chairman and CEO. "As the architect of Kroger's digital strategy, Yael will continue to make it easier for customers to shop for our fresh, affordable food."
In 2024, Kroger’s e-commerce sales reached $13 billion. Total company sales in 2024 were $147.1 billion.
During his tenure at Kroger, Cosset has overseen the company’s recent technology transformation that has simplified the work of employees and allowed them to spend more time serving our customers, company officials said.
Cosset also leads Kroger's Alternative Profit portfolio of businesses, including insight and media-focused subsidiary, 84.51˚; financial services business, Kroger Personal Finance; and retail media business, Kroger Precision Marketing.
Previously, Cosset was group vice president and chief digital officer, where he led the company's overall digital growth strategy and e-commerce expansion. He also previously served as chief commercial officer and chief information officer of 84.51° since its inception in 2015.
