Kroger Valentine's Day

Kroger has curated a slate of items for a “romantic at-home date night” this Valentine’s Day, featuring some of its private label products. The package includes a complete dinner with a wine and dessert to pair, all for around $35.

"From dinner and dessert to flowers and candy, Kroger has everything customers need for a romantic dinner for two," said Juan De Paoli, Kroger's vice president for Our Brands. "Celebrate love by experiencing the joy of cooking a meal together made out of fresh, affordable ingredients."

De Paoli will be speaking at the Private Label Manufacturers Association’s (PLMA) annual Meeting & Leadership Conference this March.

For the complete night-in package, all for $35, Kroger suggests:

  • Pinetti Notte Primitivo, a zinfandel with tasting notes of bright cherry and blackberry and hints of white pepper.
  • A salad course featuring Kroger's fresh Bacon Caesar Chopped Salad Kit.
  • Kroger Chef Mike Florea's spicy marinara and Private Selection rigatoni– download the marinara recipe card here.
  • Lastly, a dessert that exudes romance—fresh chocolate dipped strawberries from the Kroger deli.

In addition to the meal suggestion, Kroger is also promoting its wide selection of flowers, candy gift boxes and baked goods.

In December, the retailer added its floral offerings, in addition to prepared sushi, to the DoorDash delivery platform. Kroger customers will purchase nearly 23 million roses this Valentine's Day, with almost 8 million being red.
