Joann Overhauls Executive Team

The crafts retailer makes several moves following the departure of its chief financial officer.

Joann has made several changes to its executive team.

Crafting retailer Joann is making several C-suite changes that includes finding a replacement for its now-departed chief financial officer.

Effective July 29, Scott Sekella, who served as the retailer’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, has left the company. Joann officials said the company has commenced a search to fill the position. In the interim, Jeff Dwyer, managing director of Alvarez & Marsal, will act as Interim CFO.

Additionally, John Stalcup has been promoted to executive vice president and chief digital officer. In addition to his previous responsibilities leading all IT functions, Stalcup will now oversee the Data Science teams as well as the eCommerce organization.

Roger Hawkins has been promoted to senior vice president of Store Operations. Hawkins has been leading the Joann store operations organization on an interim basis for the past few months and has been part of the organization for more than 26 years. In this new role, Roger will oversee the entire field organization and store operations of more than 800 locations as well as the corporate roles that support the network. 

Peter Meyer has been named vice president of Merchandise Planning & Allocation. Meyer was most recently senior vice president of Merchandise Planning & Allocation at Arhaus, Inc. He will lead the charge with the MP&A teams to continue to optimize assortments, pricing, and product flow that help customers secure the products they demand.

Joann has also named Eileen Miller as vice president and general merchandising manager of Craft, overseeing the craft, kids, storage, and frames businesses. She most recently served as senior vice president and general merchandise manager at Michaels.
