iTi Tropicals adds coconut-based prototypes to stimulate R&D

iTi Tropicals Inc., a Lawrenceville, N.J.-based supplier of bulk tropical fruit juices, purees and concentrates, announced the availability of six custom coconut water and coconut milk prototype blends designed specifically to stimulate research and development and to initiate a creative dialogue. iTi’s goal is to encourage retailers and manufacturers to experiment with these ingredients, discover new formulations and functions, and collaborate with iTi product development scientists for insights and assistance.

With coconut ingredients, the prototypes include an organic coconut water containing 100 percent juice, two coconut milk beverages, a light culinary coconut milk, an apple-coconut-water blend and an orange-coconut-water blend, iTi said. All varieties are packaged in shelf-stable 330-milliliter tetra prisma boxes and contain powerful ingredients that can benefit products such as juice, tea, coffee, carbonated soft drinks and more. The coconut milk beverages can enhance mouthfeel and add electrolytes to such foods as ice cream, yogurt, soup, dressings and sauces.

iTi also noted that it plans to introduce several more products to the line in May, including several blends with 100 percent juice content (coconut water and passionfruit; coconut water and acerola; coconut water, spinach, mango and blueberries; coconut water, red beet, passionfruit and carrots; coconut water and cranberry; and more).
