Costco Wholesale is the best place to work in terms of pay and benefits, according to Indeed.com.

Issaquah, Wash.-headquartered Costco Wholesale is the best place to work in terms of compensation and benefits, according to a just-published list by employment-related search engine Indeed.com. Indeed’s analysis of 18 million employer reviews also places H-E-B, Aldi and Publix Super Markets among the top 15 companies, with San Antonio, Texas-based H-E-B ranked seventh; Batavia, Ill.-based Aldi eighth; and Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix 11th.

“Speaking of the top, Costco demonstrates that despite all the gloomy headlines we see about the ‘retail apocalypse,’ some companies in the sector are continuing to perform strongly and motivate employees,” Indeed reported. “Claiming the number one spot on our list, Costco has long been known for paying a living wage and providing great benefits and initiatives that show how its leaders genuinely care about employee well-being.”

Indeed provides additional information on the five “Best of the Best” companies. “Costco believes that employees are the most important assets in the company,” one employee is quoted as saying.
