Hy-Vee Opens New Nebraska Supercenter, Its Largest Store Yet
Iowa-based grocer Hy-Vee has officially opened its newest store in Gretna, Neb., becoming its largest location at 135,000 square feet.
Located southwest of Omaha, the new Gretna store features a Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh convenience store adjacent to the grocery store, a large food hall with several in-store restaurants, a Pair Eyewear kiosk, a beauty department and much more.
Other amenities include a full-service bakery, delicatessen, meat and seafood counters, as well as an expanded HealthMarket department featuring a large selection of vitamins and sports nutrition options.
Hy-Vee invested more than $37 million in the community to build, furnish and stock the new store, which will create more than 628 local jobs, including 128 full-time positions.
The Gretna Hy-Vee brings a tech focus to the shopping experience as well. It includes all-digital shelf labels that display product information and pricing and has more than 100 TVs that feature Hy-Vee products, promotions and services.
Digital kiosks are also available for customers to order custom cakes and fresh prepared foods, as well as access offerings via Hy-Vee Financial Services.
The store will be open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily and will carry about 120,000 items, including more than 6,300 specialty items, more than 8,000 HealthMarket items and 3,500 fresh produce items (including 120 organic items).
Hy-Vee operates more than 285 retail stores across eight Midwestern states.
