Hy-Vee to host slate of informative events in January

To help customers form health habits in the new year, the retail chain is hosting an array of events with its team of registered dietitians.

Throughout January,  Midwestern grocery chain Hy-Vee will be hosting informative events featuring own brands with the retailer’s registered dietitians. 

The events will include educational events including virtual store tours, cooking classes, and in-person health fairs at select Hy-Vee locations. The events follow Hy-Vee earning high praise from consumers, coming in as the nation’s third most-trusted own brand portfolio among retailers. The retailer operates 285 retail stores across eight states.

On Virtual Wellness Wednesdays, Hy-Vee dietitians will cover trending nutrition topics and share a simple recipe attendees can add to their routine. Each week will have a different theme, including Collagen Breakfast Recipes, Easy Lunch Meal Prep, Happy Hour and Reducing Sugary Beverage Intake. Wellness Wednesdays are free to attend and take place every Wednesday in January from noon to 12:30 P.M.

The Virtual Freezer Meal Prep Workshop aims to help free up time for customers by preparing meals ahead in this virtual class. In less than an hour, viewers will learn to prepare five freezer meals to feed 4-6 people. The menu includes Caesar Chicken, Taco Egg Bake, Root Beer Pulled Pork, Panera Copy Cat Broccoli Cheddar Soup and Mongolian Beef. The cost is $10 per class and will be offered in both English and Spanish.

The Healthy You in 2022: In-Person Health Fair is an in-person event that will be held at more than 100 Hy-Vee locations throughout Hy-Vee’s eight-state region, offering customers a chance to learn more about HealthMarket department products and dietitian services. Customers can enjoy samples and coupons on Jan. 29 from noon to 2 P.M. Participating locations can be found here.

Finally, Virtual Nutrition Store Tours allow Hy-Vee dietitians will help shoppers navigate the aisles during a complimentary virtual nutrition store tour focused on any of the following topics including navigating nutrition, diabetes, heart health, gluten-free, plant-based eating, food and fitness, eating better on a budget and more.
