Hy-Vee to host heart health events in February

February marks both Heart Health Month and Black History Month. Hy-Vee is celebrating by hosting virtual events that promote its own brand collection and free in-person screenings.

Midwestern grocery chain Hy-Vee is continuing to host virtual events following a slate of informative online events in January. February’s events will focus on heart health, and promote the chain’s own brand collection.

In honor of Heart Health Month, Hy-Vee’s registered dietitians will host events focused on heart health and adopting heart healthy behaviors throughout February,” said the retailer. “The dietitian team will host educational events, including virtual cooking and nutrition classes, as well as free, in-person cholesterol screenings at select locations. February is also Black History Month and this year’s theme is ‘Black Health and Wellness.’ According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), African-American individuals are 30 percent more likely to die from heart disease than non-Hispanic white individuals.”

Hy-Vee will host virtual events throughout the month, along with in-person cholesterol screenings.
