Although H-E-B previously offered home delivery through agreements with San Francisco-based Instacart and Birmingham, Ala.-based Shipt, the retailer is now providing a more personalized home delivery service to customers at nearly 100 of its more than 300 stores, according to an article in the San Antonio Business Journal.
“Through what appears to be a private-label agreement, H-E-B's mobile app and website connects with independent delivery drivers working with Shipt, Instacart and Lash for the hybrid model,” reporter Kristen Mosbrucker wrote. “Prices for items bought online are higher than in the stores. A picking fee and delivery fee are added to each order.”
