After expanding its Temple, Tex. distribution center last month, grocery chain H-E-B has opened a new e-commerce fulfillment center in Leander, Tex.

The 50,000-square-foot facility, which is located at 651 North U.S. Highway 183 in Leander, will support H-E-B Curbside and Home Delivery orders throughout Leander and surrounding cities in Central Texas and the greater Austin area.

The Leander facility marks H-E-B’s fifth e-commerce fulfillment center the company has opened since 2018. By the end of next year, H-E-B looks to open additional facilities across the state, including in Plano to help support the retailer’s expansion into the DFW Metroplex.

“At H-E-B, we’re always looking for ways to offer Texans a better shopping experience and more options to choose how they shop, pay for, and receive their products,” said Kedar Patel, H-E-B Vice President of E-commerce. “Across our business we are adopting innovative technologies that give our Partners the tools they need to provide top-quality service to our customers whether they shop online or in our stores.”

Late last year, H-E-B opened its second location in Leander, a 103,000-square-foot store at 19348 Ronald W. Reagan Blvd. in the new Bar W Marketplace. Based in San Antonio, H-E-B operates over 420 stores in Texas and Mexico and employs roughly 145,000 people.
