Gain an understanding of the regulation and litigation landscape

3/23/2016

At one point in 2015, there were a combined 1,000 federal and state bills awaiting vote across the country impacting the principal display panel of consumer products. Attendees to Store Brands' 2016 Innovation & Collaboration Summit ("Brand Building Happens Here"), slated for Aug. 15-17 at the Hyatt Grand Cypress hotel in Orlando, Fla., will gain a better understanding of the current regulatory and litigation landscape so they will be able to communicate with consumers more effectively on-pack.

Doug Baker, food industry relations vice president for the Arlington, Va.-based Food Marketing Institute, and Linda Severin, vice president of marketing for Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based Topco Associates LLC, will present a two-part discussion around on-pack messaging that will review how government bodies, consumer groups and evolving consumer food values are changing the role of the package and, therefore, how retailers communicate to customers via own-brand packaging. The discussion will also take a look at the implications for brand owners, how each is navigating the demand for information and the litigious environment surrounding messaging and required on-pack information.

Store Brands' 2016 Innovation & Collaboration Summit will feature an innovation-focused education program that will help retailers, suppliers and service providers take today's store brand programs to the next level. In addition, the event will provide opportunities for private meetings between retailers and private label suppliers/service providers — and plenty of networking time for everyone.

Created with the guidance of Store Brands' Advisory Board, the event is the only conference of its kind in the United States. Attendees will learn how to identify untapped or under-tapped private brand opportunities, achieve greater profitability and faster time to market, and forge mutually beneficial collaborative partnerships.

Sessions will cover topics ranging from sustainability and transparency to European success stories, regulatory challenges and omnichannel opportunities. For more information and to register for the summit, visit www.storebrands.com/summit2016.
