Fuchs names new director of operations

Fuchs North America, a supplier of seasonings, spices and food solutions for branded and private label products, is welcoming a new member of its leadership team. Shara Birchfield will be joining the company as the director of operations.

Birchfield brings over 16 years of experience in the food and beverage industry working at various food manufacturers under multiple job titles. The hiring comes as Baltimore, Md.-based Fuchs has unveiled multiple new product lines this year, including ‘mashup’ seasonings and unique breakfast products.

Before joining Fuchs, Birchfield held management positions in two large food companies, PepsiCo and McCormick & Company. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. In her role as Director of Operations, she is responsible for overseeing manufacturing plants in Hampstead, MD and Grand Forks, ND. Birchfield will also be focused on creating an environment where food safety is a top priority, by enforcing procedures on the plant floor that adhere to and improve on current practices.
