The Fresh Market, Hy-Vee and ALDI named top supermarkets by USA Today readers
USA Today has announced the winners of its 10Best Readers’ Choice awards for Best Supermarket Brand in 2022, with retailers with strong private label portfolios earning several of the top spots.
For the second year in a row, The Fresh Market earned the top spot, followed by Hy-Vee and ALDI.
"We are thrilled to be recognized as the best in America again," said Jason Potter, president and CEO of The Fresh Market. "We are thankful to our guests for their votes and ongoing support this past year, and grateful for our team members who offer impeccable guest service every day."
The Fresh Market, which operates 159 stores in 22 states and has a sizeable private label portfolio. The chain recently announced a continued partnership with shoppable video network Firework to continue enhancing its digital presence.
Rounding out the top three for 2022 Best Supermarket are Hy-Vee and ALDI, two retailers that are known for their private label selections. Other private label leaders, such as Publix and Trader Joe’s, also made the top 10.
A panel of experts partnered with 10Best editors to pick the initial nominees, and the top 10 winners were determined by popular vote. The top 10 winners in the category Best Supermarket Brand are as follows:
