Fleet Farm debuts mobile app, loyalty program

The regional chain’s app makes nine store brands and thousands of products shoppable over mobile, includes the use of curbside pickup, and ties users into a brand-new loyalty program.

Fleet Farm, a Midwest chain of 47 stores that focuses on outdoors, home improvement, hunting and fishing, farm and pet supplies and more, has developed a new loyalty program and its first-ever mobile app where own brand items can be purchased and the new loyalty program can be managed.

The retailer has nine store brands available to buy through the mobile app: Fleet Farm (food and consumables); Superior (lawn and garden); Resolute (automotive); Road Runner (tires) Lakes & Rivers (sporting goods); Field 'n' Forest (workwear and sporting goods); Sprout (pet and farm feeds); The Back Forty (outdoor cooking and food preservation); and Farm Rated (farming).

The loyalty program, Fleet Rewards, was developed as a thank you to its shoppers, the retailer said, rewarding them with two loyalty points for every dollar they spend. Additionally, for the more than 200,000 members of the Fleet Rewards Credit Card program, points are doubled for every dollar spent on qualified purchases made online or in-store with a Fleet Rewards Credit Card.

The program works with the retailer’s brand-new Fleet Farm App, where users can sign up for the loyalty program in the app and manage rewards points. Users earn points every time they check into a store with the app. They can also shop directly from the app, having access to thousands of products across sporting goods, fishing and hunting gear, paint, tools, outdoor power equipment, grills, outdoor furniture, farm equipment, pet supplies, clothing, footwear, small appliances and more. 

The app alerts shoppers to weekly ads, seasonal catalogs and special deals, makes items searchable by barcode for product and pricing information, and users can plan a trip to Fleet Farm with the app’s shopping list feature. The mobile app also enables users to skip the trip inside the store by selecting Outside Yard Pickup at checkout.  

“Fleet Rewards and the Fleet Farm App will deliver amazing value and a simplified shopping experience for Fleet Farm’s customers,” said Heath Ashenfelter, executive vice president of Fleet Farm. “The Fleet Farm App will provide a more personalized shopping experience for customers on the go. Plus, they will accumulate Fleet Rewards Points on purchases made on the Fleet Farm website, on the app and at the store."
