Expo West canceled this week due to concerns over coronavirus
A popular event among private brand suppliers and retailers looking to source them, Natural Products Expo West, produced by New Hope, has been canceled this week in Anaheim, Calif., citing concerns around the international COVID-19 — coronavirus — outbreak.
New Hope sent a message to attendees and exhibitors that said: "It is now clear, despite continued advice from local government and health authorities that the City of Anaheim remains open, that the majority of our Community want the show, but they do not want it now."
Several retailers had told the company that buyers wouldn’t be attending due to concerns of the outbreak such as HEB, Central Market, Costco, Harris Teeter, Whole Foods Market, Fresh Direct, and others.
The event was expected to run from March 3-7 and has been given an interim date of mid-April.
