Almark Foods has a new leader; Rick Anderson has been named chief executive officer of the largest manufacturer of hard boiled eggs in the U.S., both for private brands, brands and co-packed retail products.

The Atlanta-based manufacturer announced on June 2 that the Board of Directors officially appointed Anderson as the new CEO. He previously served the same role at Gold Coast Bakeries, and brings with him more than 20 years of experience working in food manufacturing both on the branded and store brand side.

As Almark’s CEO, Anderson will lead the development of Artisan Kitchen, a Almark-owned business that produces high-quality, fully cooked egg bites and omelets. He’ll also focus on leveraging the company’s new state-of-the-art plant in Yuma, Ariz., and look to expand manufacturing facilities in South Carolina and Tennessee. Anderson will also develop customer relationships, build a high-performance organization, and grow the already strong hard-boiled egg and deviled egg businesses, per the company.

“We are confident that Rick, a seasoned executive who has shown the ability to grow and scale businesses, is the right person to take Almark Foods to the next level,” said Don Stoner, co-founder of Almark Foods. “Rick’s experience with other successful grocery and private label brands gives him the experience he needs to continue Almark Foods’ growth trajectory.”

“I am excited to assume the role of CEO of Almark Foods because there is a tremendous opportunity for the company to continue its amazing growth. From convenient hard-boiled eggs to egg bites, the egg category is exploding as consumers opt for convenient on-the-go foods that provide high protein and good nutrition,” said Anderson. “Almark Foods is a leader in the category and is positioned to take advantage of this trend.”
