Salazar

Dr. Reddy’s is offering over-the-counter diclofenac sodium topical gel 1%, the store brand version of GSK Consumer Healthcare's Voltaren Arthritis Pain. The launch comes on the heels of Perrigo's launch of its private label diclofenac product.

Walgreens also has launched its own brand version of the product.

“The launch of Dr. Reddy’s diclofenac sodium topical gel, 1% (OTC), is an important addition to our pain/ analgesics portfolio of OTC products, and represents our continued commitment to the Private Label OTC space,” said Marc Kikuchi, Dr. Reddy’s CEO, North America Generics. “We are pleased to partner with Encube Ethicals to bring this product to market for the benefit of consumers.”

The product is used for the temporary relief of arthritis pain only in the hand, wrist, elbow (upper body areas); and foot, ankle, knee (lower body areas).

The Voltaren Arthritis Pain brand had a market value of about $44 million since its launch in May 2020, according to IQVIA.

Dr. Reddy’s product soon will be available in multiple pack sizes.
