Acme Smoked Fish has recalled smoked salmon sold under Costco’s Kirkland Signature brand over concerns of a possible Listeria contamination.
The product in question was sold only in the Florida region and was on shelf between October 9 and October 13, according to information on Acme’s website. The affected packages are limited to lot number 8512801270. A company press release said the recall impacted 111 cases of salmon with a best-by-date of November 13, 2024.
Acme officials said the company is cooperating with recommendations from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. No reported cases of illness have been reported.
Consumers who have purchased the salmon should not consume it and are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or discard the product. Consumers with questions can call 718-383-8585 Monday-Friday 8 am – 5 pm Eastern time.
“We regret this unfortunate incident and have taken immediate corrective steps to ensure that this issue never happens again,” Eduardo Carbajosa, CEO of Acme Smoked Fish, wrote in a letter to Costco shoppers.
