Costco sales in April were up 7%.

April sales at Costco were up 7% as comparable sales growth across the company was a key driver.

For the four weeks ended May 4, sales for the month were $21.18 billion, up from sales of $19.8 billion in April of 2024. Net sales for the first 35 weeks were $180.05 billion, an increase of 8.2% from net sales of $166.44 billion in the comparable period the previous year.

Comparable sales excluding the impact of gas prices and foreign exchange were up 6.7% across the company. By segment, same store sales in the U.S. was up 7.1%, up 5% in Canada, up 6.5% in Other International, and up 13% in e-commerce.

Company officials noted that April had one less shopping day versus last year, due to the calendar shift of Easter. This negatively impacted total and comparable sales by approximately 1.5% to 2%.
