Chewy Expands Private Label Mix With New Wellness Line

The launch of the Vibeful assortment offers shoppers a selection of items ranging from vitamins to immune support and digestive aids for pets.

Chewy has expanded its own brand assortment with the launch of Vibeful, the pet retailer’s first private label line in the pet wellness category. 

The line of products includes a host of items such as multivitamins, hip and joint supplements and a digestive health assortment. The line was announced during the company’s third quarter investor conference call. 

“The nonprescription pet health and wellness category has an estimated 2022 TAM (total addressable market) of over $2.4 billion,” said Sumit Singh, CEO of Chewy. “Given the increased consumer focus on wellness and the ongoing trend toward pet humanization, we believe this launch gives us another opportunity to strengthen our connection with customers and to drive top and bottom-line results.”

The Vibeful assortment includes melatonin products, allergy & immune support, grass protection, probiotics, behavior support and digestive development.

During its conference call, Chewy reported net sales of $2.53 billion, an increase of 14.5%. Net income was $2.3 million, up from a net loss of $32.2 million in the comparable quarter the previous year. 

“Chewy’s third quarter results showed accelerating double-digit topline growth, sustained gross margin expansion, and solid free cash flow generation,” said Singh. “Our results are a clear indication of the resiliency of the pet category and how Chewy’s compelling value proposition of low prices, personalized service, and delivery convenience across a broad selection of products continues to resonate with our customers.”
