Buc-ee's has two new Wisconsin stores in its pipeline.
Buc-ee’s is expanding beyond its southern roots and heading north to Wisconsin.
The convenience store chain will open a new store to the south of Milwaukee in the community of Oak Creek, according to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The 74,000-square-foot store will have 120 fueling stations and be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The store is slated to open in early 2027 and will be located on a 30-acre site at the I-94/Elm Road interchange.
The Oak Creek location is one of two stores Buc-ee’s has in the pipeline for the Badger State. In 2023, the convenience store chain announced plans to open a store near Madison in the community of DeForest. That project has experienced delays and published reports have indicated that no official grand opening date has been set.
With a majority of Buc-ee’s stores in Texas and other parts of the southeast, the Wisconsin stores would be an outlier for the company. Currently, the closest Buc-ee’s store is nearly 500 miles away in Smiths Grove, Kentucky. The company operates stores in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas and will have a presence in Ohio.
In August of 2024, Store Brands reported that Buc-ee’s would open a new store in Dayton. The 74,000-square-foot station will have 100 fueling stations and 24 electric vehicle charging stations. The store will be located at 8000 State Highway 235 in Huber Height, a northern suburb of Dayton, and sit just off a stretch of I-70 between Columbus and Indianapolis. The store is expected to open in early 2026.
