BJ’s Wholesale Club Reports Q2 Sales Gains
Second-quarter sales at BJ’s Wholesale Club were up more than 3% as the retailer reported gains in comparable store sales when excluding the impact of gasoline.
For the 13 weeks ended Aug. 2, total revenue was up 3.4% to $5.38 billion. This included net sales growth of 3.2% to $5.27 billion, and a 9% increase in membership fee income to $123.3 million. Net income was $150.7 million, or $1.14 adjusted earnings per share, compared to adjusted net income of $145.0 million, or $1.09 adjusted earnings per share.
Comparable store sales excluding the impact of gasoline sales were up 2.3% in the quarter.

For the 26 weeks ended Aug. 2, total revenue increased 4% to $10.5 billion. Net sales were up 3.9% to $10.3 billion, with membership fee income up 8.6% to $243.7 million. Net income for the first half increased to $300.5 million in the first six months of fiscal 2025 compared to $256.0 million in the first six months of fiscal 2024. Comparable store sales excluding gas sales were up 3.1% over the first 26 weeks of the company’s fiscal year.
For the remainder of its fiscal year, the retailer is forecasting comparable store sales excluding gasoline to increase between 2% and 3.5% year-over-year. Adjusted earnings per share are forecast in the range of $4.20 and $4.35.
“We are pleased with the performance of business year to date and are confident in the outlook for the back half,” said Laura Felice, executive vice president and chief financial officer of BJ’s Wholesale. “We continue to see a top-line range aligned with our previous outlook, but we are narrowing and increasing our range on the bottom line.”
BJ’s Wholesale Club currently operates 225 clubs and 190 BJ’s Gas locations in 21 states.
