Amazon boasts biggest-ever holiday season

Seattle-based Amazon reported today in a press release that this holiday season has been its biggest ever, with customers around the world shopping on Amazon.com at record levels.

Prime membership continued to grow, with more than four million people starting Prime free trials or beginning paid memberships in one week alone, Amazon stated. Items shipped with free one-day shipping or free same-day delivery more than doubled this holiday season worldwide.

Echo Dot was the top-selling product on Amazon

"Since Day One we have obsessed over what we believe our customers care about— incredible deals and low prices, fast and free shipping, and a wide selection of top products — and we continue to provide all three, all the time,” said Amazon Worldwide Consumer CEO Jeff Wilke in the press release.
