Private label snack foods supplier Wyandot Snacks is expanding its Marion, Ohio, manufacturing facility with the addition of new machinery and equipment.

The $7.7 million investment will create 67 new jobs while retaining more than 260 existing positions.

“For nearly a hundred years, Wyandot has been deeply rooted in Marion, and we are thrilled to reaffirm our commitment to this community with this investment,” said Lori Roberts, a veteran executive at Wyandot. “This expansion strengthens our ability to deliver high-quality snack products while advancing our operations with cutting-edge technology. Marion’s skilled workforce, strong business climate, and community support have played a pivotal role in our decision to grow here, and we look forward to continuing our engagement with the local community.”

According to the company’s website, Wyandot partners with some of the most recognized retailers and brands to create high-quality private label snacks. Its “Innovative Crunch” line of tortilla chips, strips, and extruded products can be customized to meet a retailer’s unique identity and flavor profile. The company also provides contract manufacturing services.

The company dates back to 1936 and was founded by Hoover and Ava Brown under the name Wyandot Popcorn Company. A decade later, the Brown family formed the subsidiary, Popped Right. In 1989, the two companies merged to become Wyandot, Inc.
