Whole Foods to accept digital currency
Cryptocurrency is finally making waves as an effective form of payment between consumers and retailers.
According to Fortune, Amazon-owned Whole Foods, Crate and Barrel, as well as Nordstrom are accepting Bitcoin and three other types of digital money. The payments are enabled through a partnership between Flexa, a payments startup, and Gemini, a digital currency company.
The payments work through linking to the digital scanners that big retailers use to accept phone-based payments, such as Apple Pay.
