Rochester, N.Y.-based Wegmans lowered prices on many of its store brands last week, including cereal, bottled salad dressing, frozen pizza and produce and dairy items.

Wegmans last reduced prices in 2016.

According to the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, the deals include:

Wegmans cereal, 11- to 18-ounce sizes (22 varieties), at two for $3.

• Wegmans bottled salad dressing, 16-ounce size (24 varieties) at $1.29.

• Russet potatoes, 5-pound bag for $2.99.

• Tomatoes on the vine, 1 pound for $1.99.

Wegmans frozen pizza, 18- to 32-ounce sizes (12 varieties) at $2.99.

The company last cut prices on certain items in late 2016, and most of them remain unchanged, the store says in the report from the the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. The items total about 102 products representing 530 varieties. Some prices are only available with the Wegmans Shoppers Club card.

“For the most part, we have been able to keep prices at the same level since they were lowered in 2016; some of the prices have actually gone down. A couple have gone up,”, Jo Natale, a Wegmans spokeswoman, told the Buffalo News. The price cuts consist almost completely of Wegmans products because the company has the most pricing leverage with its store brands. According to the Buffalo News, Wegmans said monitoring the competition’s prices and lowering its own prices is important to remaining competitive.
