Wawa's Westward Expansion Continues
Wawa continues to spread its wings to the west and has started construction on the convenience store chain’s new stores in Tennessee.
To mark the occasion, the company hosted a Community Partnership event at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee to provide locals with an overview of its history and growth projections. The event also served as the official start of construction of its new stores at 5109 Veterans Parkway in Murfreesboro and at 1290 Parkway Place in Clarksville. The new stores are projected to open in the second half of 2026.
“Wawa is proud to be expanding to the Middle Tennessee market,” said Joe Collins, director of Store Operations for Wawa. “We are thrilled to continue growing in new markets to provide the community with our one-of-a-kind offer and commitment to supporting the community.”
Attendees at the Wawa-hosted event enjoyed a “Taste of Wawa” with fresh food and beverage favorites, including freshly brewed Wawa coffee, pretzels, teas, and lemonades.
With its roots planted firmly in the Northeast, the Wawa, Pennsylvania-based company has expanded its store count over the past year by entering new states for the convenience store chain.
In May, Wawa’s opening of its first stores in Indiana followed its April entry into Ohio. In November of 2024, the company opened its first location in Georgia. Wawa currently has plans to open nine stores in Ohio in 2025, and five additional locations in Indiana by the end of the year.
