Wawa Cold Brew Ice Cream Gets Recalled

The manufacturer of the own brand ice cream is recalling the flavor due to the unmarked containment of peanuts.

One of Wawa’s own brand ice cream pints has been recalled due to the containment of undeclared peanuts. 

Cleveland-based manufacturer Royal Ice Cream Company is voluntarily recalling containers of Wawa Cold Brew Ice Cream. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume the product, though no adverse reactions have been reported so far.

The affected product was distributed to Wawa stores located throughout: Delaware, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C., and is being recalled from consumers, retail store shelves, back stock rooms and warehouses.

The affected product is packaged in ONE PINT (473mL) paperboard cups labeled Wawa Cold Brew Coffee Ice Cream with UPC code 7 26191 00351 3 located on the side of the cup in the information panel, and in combination with Best By Date: 04.Oct.2023 and Code Date: 22094 39-62 stamped on the bottom of the cup.

Convenience chain Wawa operates over 950 locations, including 750 gas stations. The company employs over 35,000 people.
