Walmart private label supplier issues recall

Huisken Meat Co., a Sauk Rapids, Minn., supplier of beef patties to Bentonville, Ark.-based Walmart, is recalling approximately 89,568 pounds of private label beef products that may be contaminated with extraneous wood materials, said the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The foreign material originated with an incoming ingredient and was discovered during production.

The 2-pound boxes containing six pieces of “Sam’s Choice Black Angus Beef Patties with 19% Vidalia Onion” with Use By dates 05/17/2016, 05/29/2016 and 06/06/2016 were produced on various dates between Nov. 19, 2015 and Dec. 9, 2015. The products were shipped to retail locations nationwide, FSIS said.
