Bentonville, Ark.-based Walmart is pitching its new advertising business to large consumer goods companies and advertising firms in New York.
According to a Reuters report, the discount giant is looking to ramp up its website as a platform for other companies to reach customers. The event is called “5260” and is named after a Walmart store that is known for being a test lab for retail innovation, Walmart told Reuters.
Although Walmart declined to confirm the names of the attendees, Reuters predicts that big-name companies including Procter & Gamble, Unilever Coca-Cola, Mattel and NBC Universal are likely to attend.
