Walgreens Names New Chief Commercial Officer

In his new role, Jason Stenta will oversee the company’s commercial growth strategy.

Jason Stenta has joined Walgreens as its new senior vice president and chief commercial officer.

Walgreens has named Jason Stenta as senior vice president and chief commercial officer. In this new role, He will lead the company’s commercial growth strategy, driving the development and commercialization of B2B healthcare services built on the company’s core assets, and enhancing partnerships with payers, health system providers, and life sciences companies.

“Jason is a strategic, relationship-driven healthcare leader, and I’m proud to welcome him to the team,” said Mary Langowski, executive vice president and president, U.S. Healthcare, at Walgreens Boots Alliance. “His experience with complex healthcare organizations, along with his strong understanding of market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and customer needs, will be invaluable as we strengthen our relationships and solutions in healthcare.”

Stenta brings nearly 20 years of healthcare experience, successfully leading large organizations and cross-functional teams through growth and change. Most recently, he was at Optum, a UnitedHealth Group company, where he served as senior vice president of payer sales. Before Optum, he held leadership roles at CVS Health for 10 years.

“This is an exciting time at Walgreens, and I’m thrilled to have this unique opportunity to contribute,” said Stenta. “As we look to expand services, and provide partners with healthcare solutions they really need, I believe Walgreens core strengths and services in retail pharmacy will be key in how we’re able to do this.”

Stenta will begin his new role in early October.
