Coffee remains one the hottest beverage choices for U.S. consumers who in 2022 spent nearly $110 billion on coffee and related goods, according to a new report from the National Coffee Association (NCA).

The annual figure outlined in the NCA’s survey is equivalent to about $301 million spent daily on coffee across the country. Additionally, the report revealed that coffee represents 1.3% of the U.S. economy ($343.2 billion).

"This landmark study confirms the great news that coffee not only fuels our daily lives, it is a powerful engine for jobs, communities, and the U.S. economy, all while supporting coffee farmers' livelihoods in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and around the world,” said William “Bill” Murray,” president and CEO of the NCA.

The NCA noted that coffee accounts for $15.6 billion in sales at supermarkets, $7.4 billion in sales at convenience stores, and $3.1 billion in sales at wholesale clubs/other.

Additionally, coffee supports more than 2.2 million U.S. jobs and generates more than $101.2 billion in wages - benefitting every state and communities across the country. Coffee is responsible for nearly $38 billion in federal, state, and local tax receipts.
