Trilliant Food & Nutrition Enters the Single-Cup Beverage Market
Trilliant Food & Nutrition, Little Chute, Wis., made its debut in the single-serve cup market with the introduction of a line of single-serve beverages. The company said it chose to begin offering single-serve cups because of the changing dynamics of the coffee category. With market share continuing to shift away from can and bagged coffee to the single-serve cup format, the company saw a large opportunity to offer a variety of high-quality products at a value price to the consumer.
A Safe Quality Food (SQF) Level 2 company, and on track to achieve SQF Level 3 certification by the end of the year, Trilliant Food & Nutrition said it needed to add square footage to its warehouse space to accommodate expansion of its equipment to include single-serve cup capabilities. Additionally, the company created a unique dimpled cup for its single-serve coffee, tea and powder beverages. The cup protects the filter from tearing and prevents coffee grounds and tea leaves from escaping.
“Our unique patented dimple cup design provides a high-quality, consistent cup of fresh coffee that retailers want their store brand to stand for,” said Billie Jo Rice, vice president of sales for Trilliant Food & Nutrition.
The company offers more than 20 different coffee roasts, with premium dark and morning blend being the two most popular. Additionally, it offers four different types of hot cocoa, including flavors such as Almond, Mint and Malt; a line of cappuccinos with flavors such as White Chocolate Caramel, English Toffee and Pumpkin Spice; and two hot apple ciders: Spiced Apple and Hot Buttered Rum. Trilliant Food & Nutrition also offers a variety of hot teas, including Green, Black, Chai, Peppermint and Earl Grey, as well as cold teas meant to be brewed over ice, including Peach, Pomegranate and Mango.
