TreeHouse Foods, Post in talks to buy Ralcorp

According to a July 28 article by Reuters, Oak Brook, Ill.-based TreeHouse Foods Inc. and Post Holdings Inc., St. Louis, are in talks with Omaha, Neb.-based ConAgra Foods Inc. to purchase Ralcorp, ConAgra's private label unit. Ralcorp could be valued at $3.5 billion. TreeHouse and ConAgra join private equity firms such as Apollo Global Management LLC and Cerberus Capital Management LP in the auction for Ralcorp.
