Trader Joe’s has issued a recall for its Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings over the possible presence of a foreign material believed to be plastic.

The product has SKU# 54988, with a best buy date of March 7, 2025 and lot code C1-1 or C1-2. No illnesses or injuries have been reported to date, the grocer said.

Consumers who have purchased the dumplings with the aforementioned information are asked to either discard the product or return to any Trader Joe’s location for a full refund.

Shoppers with questions may contact Trader Joe's Customer Relations at (626) 599-3817 [Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 5:00 pm Pacific Time] or send an email.

The recall of its Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings is the latest recall issued by Trader Joe’s. In early February, the grocery recalled several items containing cotija cheese over concerns the cheese used to make the products may be contaminated with Listeria.

The cotija cheese that was used to produce the products below was manufactured by Rizo-López Foods, Inc. On February 5, Rizo-López Foods initiated a recall of dairy items, including cotija cheese, under multiple brand names. As a result, Trader Joe's is recalling all codes of the products listed below that were manufactured with cotija cheese.

The recalled products were sold in Trader Joe's stores nationwide and include:

  • Trader Joe's Chicken Enchiladas Verde (SKU 58292)
  • Trader Joe's Cilantro Salad Dressing (SKU 36420)
  • Trader Joe's Elote Chopped Salad Kit (SKU 74768)
  • Trader Joe's Southwest Salad (SKU 56077)

Additionally in early February, Trader Joe’s recalled its Chicken, Lentil & Caramelized Onion Pilaf due to the potential presence of foreign material. Sold under the Trader Joe’s brand, the grocer did not specify the type of foreign material may be found in the product.
