Trader Joe's No. 1 In Annual Axios Harris Poll Rankings
Trader Joe’s and its broad assortment of private label products were ranked No. 1 in the annual Axios Harris Poll 100 Corporate Reputation Survey.
With more than 540 stores across the U.S. and growing, the grocer moved up 12 spots in this year’s ranking with a score of 82.1. The top five, in descending order, include Patagonia, Microsoft, Toyota Motor Corporation, and Costco. All companies in the Top 10 were ranked as excellent. (See the full list.)
One of the nation’s more popular grocery stores with a loyal customer base, Trader Joe’s continued to open new stores in communities across the U.S. Recently, published reports out of New York surfaced that revealed the company is looking to construct a new distribution center on Long Island.
Harris Poll officials said the grocer known for being value-focused has seen its reputation store increase 3.5 points since 2024.
A recent report from Placer.ai showed shopper store visits to Trader Joe’s were up 6.2% in 2024. That growth from this past year has carried into 2025. During the first quarter, the Monrovia, Calif.-based retailer saw store traffic growth of 10.5% in January and 8.3% in February.
The annual Axios and Harris Poll survey also found that consumers have pointed views on the role corporations play in the current economic climate.

- American consumers consider quality the most important consideration when evaluating company reputations, followed by customer service, employee treatment, and prices. Over three-quarters (79%) say brands with the best reputation prioritize consumers’ wallets.
In total, the annual survey included 15 retailers in the Top-100. In addition to Trader Joe’s and Costco, other chains included The Home Depot (15), Lowe’s (23), Aldi (32), Best Buy (34), Kroger (35), Hobby Lobby (52), Macy’s (67), Target (68), Dollar Tree (75), Walmart (81), Dollar General (85), JCPenney (89), Shein (94).
