Trader Joe's faces class action lawsuit for its private brand canned tuna
A class action lawsuit, filed in Manhattan federal court, alleges that Monrovia, Calif.-based Trader Joe's under-filled 5-ounce cans of its store brand tuna and violated the federally mandated minimum standard fill of 3.23 ounces for the cans. According to the lawsuit, tests by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration found that cans contained, on average, 2.43 ounces to 2.87 ounces of tuna, states a Jan. 6 article on CNBC.com.
