Texas company offering Paleo-inspired organic baby foods

Serenity Kids began operation in 2018.

An Austin, Texas-based company is offering grass-fed beef with organic kale and sweet potato; pastured uncured bacon with organic butternut squash and kale; and wild-caught salmon with beets — for babies, according to The Austin American-Statesman, a news agency based in Austin. And the company, Serenity Kids, has just raised $1.5 million for expansion.

Founded in 2018, Serenity Kids offers a line of paleo-inspired baby foods. Paleo is a dietary plan based on the idea that people should eat the same foods as their Paleolithic ancestors — meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts and seafood.

According to The Austin American-Statesman, Serenity Kids uses ingredients like kabocha squash, uncured bacon and avocado oil to create high-fat low-sugar baby meals that are packaged in pouches. All recipes are free from gluten, grain, dairy, corn, eggs and nuts. Serenity Kids sells its line at 700 stores across the U.S., including nationwide at Whole Foods Market, also based in Austin.
