Teasdale Latin Foods names CEO

Hispanic foods provider Teasdale Latin Foods has new leadership. The Carrollton, Texas-based company, majority owned by Snow Phipps Group, has named Tim O’Connor CEO. 

"Tim is the ideal leader for Teasdale," said Don Sturdivant, Teasdale chairman and Snow Phipps Group operating partner. "His extensive food and operational background and strategic execution skills will help Teasdale strengthen operations and capitalize on key growth opportunities. We believe his strong leadership experience will help Teasdale execute its continued growth plan."

Most recently, O’Connor was CEO of private label deli and frozen pizza maker Richelieu Foods, where he spent nearly a decade, first as CFO before moving into the top spot. Other executive experience includes time spent as executive vice president and CFO of LoJack, senior vice president of finance operation at American Tower and various roles at Procter & Gamble and its Gillette Brand. 

"I am extremely excited to be joining the Teasdale platform," O’Connor said. "I am impressed with how comprehensively Teasdale serves its customers by providing solutions for the growing Hispanic eating occasion and supporting its best-in-class customer base. I look forward to accomplishing even more with the Teasdale team."

Also joining Teasdale is Chris Silva, who now is on the board of directors, bring with him more than 30 years of experience in executive roles at Advance Pierre, TreeHouse and Dean Foods, among others. 

"Throughout his career, Tim has demonstrated his ability to manage complex organizations and unlock potential for value, and we are thrilled to have him join Teasdale," Silva said. "He has been responsible for the development and successful execution of short- and long-term strategies, including business transformations, manufacturing expansions, sale processes and other strategic initiatives.  He has also effectively managed responsibilities in financial operations and operational assignments in distribution and logistics, procurement, information technology, compliance, and human resources."

Teasdale Latin Foods has been making branded and private label Latin foods for more than 70 years, including beans, hominy, tacos, tortillas, salsas, hot sauces, seasonings and peppers sold in retail, food service, wholesale, industrial and international channels. It operates facilities in Atwater, Calif.; Hoopeston, Ill.; Greeley, Colo.; Louisville, Ky.; Budda, Texas; and Carrollton, Texas.
