Target is changing the way it is adding third-party sellers to its website in order to increase profits.

While actively approaching brands, the Minneapolis-based retailer has decided it wants to take a different method than its competitors, such as Amazon and Walmart. According to a CNBC article, only brands who are invited to join the company’s website as a third-party seller will be allowed to participate, while Walmart and Amazon only requires brands to fill out an application requesting approval to sell on there sites. Target said it’s targeting companies that fall within specific categories, such as sporting goods and toys, where it sees high shopper demand.
