According to a USA Today article, customers will soon be able to use their smartphones to scan a grocery store shelf and pinpoint items that specifically meet their dietary needs.

Consumers will soon be able to check for food allergies by looking at the phones in the palms of their hands.

According to a USA Today article, customers will soon be able to use their smartphones to scan a grocery store shelf and pinpoint items that specifically meet their dietary needs. Developed by Swiss technology company Scandit, retailers now have the ability to decide what information they way to offer to their consumers by adding Scandit’s new software to their apps. When customers open the store app, they will see different categories – such as lactose or nut free – and can then click on what they’re interested in.
