Mérieux NutriSciences inaugurates new laboratory in Beijing

Mérieux NutriSciences, a Chicago-based provider of services to evaluate food safety, quality and nutrition programs, said it opened a state-of-the-art laboratory in Beijing. The new facilities allow Mérieux NutriSciences to better meet its clients’ expectations in a constantly and rapidly growing market. James Chen, managing director of Mérieux NutriSciences in China, officially opened the laboratory on Feb. 26.

“It is a pleasure for me to announce the opening of this new lab, which reflects our ambition to establish the company as a strong global solution provider for the food industry,” Chen stated.

Following its recent acquisition of Sino Analytica in Ningbo, China, and Qingdao, China, Mérieux NutriSciences’ new lab in Beijing reinforces Mérieux NutriSciences’ footprint in China. Built to support global food safety and quality challenges, the new lab provides outstanding microbiology capabilities, the company said. The lab will also benefit from cutting-edge equipment operated by highly qualified experts, as well as an integrated and unique Quality Systems Program, which is standard across the Mérieux NutriSciences global network.

“This new lab in China allows the company to better serve the Chinese market, which presents a high growth potential,” said Philippe Sans, president and CEO, Mérieux NutriSciences. “It is also an opportunity to upgrade our premises and our solutions to always improve food safety and public health worldwide.”
