Stop & Shop is closing e-commerce facilities in the Connecticut towns of Windsor and Norwalk.

Stop & Shop is closing two Connecticut facilities used by the Northeast regional grocer for its online grocery business.

Located in Windsor and Norwalk, the two centers currently have a total of 150 employees. News of the closure was reported by CTInsider.com.

A Stop & Shop spokesperson told CTInsider.com that the closures will not impact customers, who will be able to continue shopping for either online pickups or home delivery after the closure of the two facilities.

"With this shift, we look forward to delivering an even better omnichannel customer experience with more options for same-day pickup and delivery, plus an even broader assortment of products,” said Jennifer Brogan, a spokesperson for the grocer. “While it is a competitive space, Stop & Shop’s online business continues to be strong, and we are making these changes to our operations to better meet the needs of our local customers.”

The announcement of the two closing facilities comes a little more than a year after Stop & Shop announced the closure of 32 stores in five northeastern states — Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island.

Following the reduction in store count, Stop & Shop had more than 350 stores in five states, including 81 stores in Connecticut, 115 in Massachusetts, 47 in New Jersey, 91 in New York, and 25 in Rhode Island.
