SpartanNash invites consumers in three states to design next reusable bags

2/15/2017

Grand Rapids, Mich.-based SpartanNash is asking consumers and store employees in Nebraska, North Dakota and Michigan to take part in a competition to design the company’s next limited-edition reusable shopping bags. The designs must reflect local state pride.

The contest is part of SpartanNash’s companywide Earth Week activities, which will emphasize the organization’s commitment to environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility. The company said it has long encouraged customers to use reusable bags to help decrease the consumption of single-use bags.

The goal of the bag design contest is to “showcase state pride and celebrate the talented artists that are part of the communities SpartanNash serves,” the company said.

The three winners (one from each state) will receive a $500 cash prize and see their designs featured on reusable bags available in SpartanNash’s corporate-owned stores. Designs must be submitted to [email protected] by 5 p.m. EST on March 1.
